Track shoes generally last 1,500 to 3,000 operating hours, pins and bushings 2,000 to 4,000 hours, and roller bearings 3,000 to 6,000 hours. The spread is wide because duty affects life far more than build quality, and the same chassis can differ by a factor of three between mud and paved ground. Four factors dominate: sand content in the ground, degree of single-track eccentricity, continuous operating hours without stops, and frequent abrupt stops and turns. Improving any one of them typically extends life more than specifying a more expensive material.
