These three faults rarely have a single cause and are usually the combined result of tension error, inconsistent roller geometry and lost lubrication. Uneven wear points to insufficient roller travel on one side or a twisted frame, while chain breakage almost always traces to tension error or pitch elongation, and noise most often comes from a bearing or a loose pin fit. Read the shape of the wear first: one edge polished flat indicates misalignment, uniform wear with a short life indicates the duty itself, and a localised hot spot points to a seized roller or trapped debris.
