Ground pressure is roughly the machine weight divided by the total contact area of the tracks, so a wider rubber shoe wins on soft ground. A customized rubber track chassis with 400 mm shoes can hold a 5-ton excavator on wet clay, while the same machine on 200 mm steel track shoes sinks noticeably. A customized steel track chassis in a wide track layout still outperforms narrow steel on mud, but narrow steel can carry far higher load per unit area, which is why it remains the choice in quarries. MAGEON can size both a customized steel track chassis and a customized rubber track chassis against your specific soil bearing capacity.
